DiagramSmith app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android

Last updated 2026-10-25

Every tool on Diagram Smith stays free in your browser. The DiagramSmith app (1.0) is the same set of diagram makers as a native app for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, with every diagram kept as a file on your device and no account.

Coming soon to the App Store and Google Play. The store pages are not open yet, so there are no download buttons on this page; the buttons will appear here when the app is available. To hear when it is, leave your email at the bottom.

What is in the app

  • Files that move between tools: open a .drawio file (first page; containers are flattened) and save it back as .drawio. Paste Mermaid syntax (flowchart, sequence, ER and class diagrams) to get an editable diagram, and export Mermaid again. Export PlantUML text, SVG, PNG up to 4x and vector PDF.
  • A flowchart that checks itself: the flow check marks decisions with one way out, branches without a Yes/No label, dead ends, unconnected shapes and parts that cannot be reached from Start.
  • 24 diagram types: flowcharts and templates, data flow, decision trees, cycle, block, network, UML class, ER with SQL, sequence, org charts, timelines, Gantt, SWOT, RACI, Eisenhower, pie, line, gauge, Sankey, Venn, concept maps and tree diagrams.
  • Type or drag: drag shapes and arrows, or type one step per line and watch the drawing follow. Auto layout and 100 steps of undo.
  • Your diagrams are files: each one is a .dsmith file on your device. The app makes no network requests: nothing is uploaded, no account, no ads, no tracking.
  • Built for each device: a sidebar layout on iPad, Mac and Android tablets, and on the Mac a full menu bar with keyboard shortcuts (New, Open, Export, Export as PDF, Check Flowchart).

Free and Pro

  • Free: all 24 diagram types and templates, unlimited diagrams, opening .drawio and Mermaid files, Mermaid, PlantUML, PNG and SVG export with a small diagramsmith.com mark.
  • Pro: the flow check, saving as .drawio, vector PDF and exports without the mark. $99.99 a year (auto-renewing; the yearly plan can start with a free trial when the store offers one) or $239.99 once (lifetime). On Apple devices one purchase works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. Prices in other countries follow the store.

The app and the website are separate: a Pro plan bought on the website (pricing) is not the same purchase as one bought in a store.

draw.io is a trademark of draw.io Ltd. Diagram Smith is not affiliated with draw.io Ltd; it opens and saves .drawio files.
